excerpt of email to Mr Hundrich:

The photo shows a masked sculpture of late Dr Joanna Yuen-man TSE, taken early this year when COVID-19 hit Hong Kong. Once we noticed the virus outbreak in China, most Hongkongers had a flashback of the SARS epidemic in 2003, and quickly put on whatever face masks available. It was a hard lesson learnt when 299 precious lives perished, including late Dr TSE, who died days after catching the virus in her serving hospital, helping other SARS patients. I thought of her, and went to the memorial garden where statues of Dr TSE and a few other medical professionals, who sacrificed their lives for fellow Hongkongers, are placed. Someone else laid flowers there before I arrived paying my tribute, and I put on a face mask for her.

Now that two waves of outbreaks hit Hong Kong, little is mentioned about her. The local medical professionals even had gone on strike to urge the government to shut the border down to control the virus from spreading. Yet, nobody will say no wearing face masks as a simple and effective protection, as well as a respect for all our significant others.
